Had indoor plumbing starting around 2000bc in all their buildings
Were the first ancient civilization to build warships which they used to protect their large merchant fleet
Developed and used a fairly complex plough to sow their crops
Built both roads and bridges both outside and inside of their towns including a raised median strip for pedestrians between most of their roads
Had both a wheeled vehicle you could sit in as well as a wheeled vehicle you could lay in for land transportation
The Minoan cities were connected with stone-paved roads, formed from blocks cut with bronze saws. Streets were drained and water and sewage facilities were available to the upper class, through clay pipes.
Minoan buildings often had flat tiled roofs; plaster, wood, or flagstone floors, and stood 2-3 stories high.
They would construct the lower walls of stone and rubble and use mudbrick for higher elevations. Ceiling timbers would hold up the roofs.
The Minoans provided major scientific advancements such as indoor plumbing.
Minoans were the first ancient civilization to build warships.
They also developed a plough to sow their seeds, roads and bridges were built, and buildings had a supply of hot water by underground clay pipes.
The Minoans also had toilets far more superior to anything known in the West before the 19th century A.D.
Scientifically, these advancements have shaped how we live today in our modern society.
