Based mainly on water-rice civilization
Also included handicrafts, hunting and gathering, husbandry and fishing and bronze casting.
Lac Lords controlled the communal settlements

Van Lang people also grew other grains, beans and livestock such as buffaloes, chickens and pigs
Transportation and communication provided by dug out canoes
Buffalo used to plough
Pottery still primitive
Bricks and tiles used for building
Rent paid to rulers
Other duties included serving in the army
Based mostly on agriculture but handicrafts were encouraged
Work sites opened for weapon making, weaving, minting, ship building and others
Palaces and pagodas built more
Ports opened for trading ships
Coins taken away and replaced with bills
